Sophia English Language and U.S. Culture

The English Language and U.S. Culture Program was a three-week academic and cultural immersion program that focused on improving communication and English vocabulary skills, as well as co-curricular experiential learning opportunities. Program participants had the opportunity to learn about the American subcultures, especially those that exist within the southeast region of the country, and the various facets of life within such cultures. Emphasis was placed on developing vocabulary and writing skills through ESL classes and teaching elementary school children about different aspects of their own culture.
